  After that the woman was very snippy. Told us to grab a paddle and when I asked what size she told me to just grab one and be gone (we had planned a day trip so a paddle not the right size can be a very unpleasant thing).

  Best place to rent kayaks or canoes...love their ice cream and fresh coffee not to mention all the wonderful souvenirs and dry firewood. We get everything here when we come to Algonquin! Even a poutine once in a while! Forgot to mention the friendly staff too!!! Thanks guys!!

  Hard working team there!! Very cool place to shop, we rented a water taxi and they were super helpful with helping us load and unload our gear. We're going back again!

  Prices are fine but customer service is abysmal. The two women we dealt with were extremely rude and also quite disorganized. They did not give us any information on where our rental would be at Rock Lake access and also gave us a rental number that was not at the lake. When we called back to ask which one we should take instead and it was chaos (both women had forgotten is even though we had been there less than an hour prior). They ended up saying take any canoe.. Hopefully we didn't take someone else's!

  We did a lot of canoeing that summer with other rental services and no complaints there. But I strongly recommend not to rent at opeongooutfitters if you are not very well prepared regarding both prices and the trip you want to take.

  Be careful with these guys! We inquired a few weeks ahead of our trip about the price. When we got there we wanted to rent a canoe and a transfer and were told it’d cost twice the amount (90$) we were told before (58$). We then showed the email we had printed out. The woman at the counter then called the guy that answered our mail and he said we could get the trip for the price he told us and said we were lucky because usually it’d cost 65$... No very trustworthy if you ask me.

  It did not stop there: The guy that drove us to the drop off location acted very strange. It seemed to us like he was high or drunk. Neither from the woman in the shop nor from the guy did we get any instructions (even though we asked and we told them we were beginners). They did not even tell us about a waterfall on our way (we had to carry the canoe and it took us nearly an hour to find a way around the fall!).
